Unlike traditional Mario titles, Multiverse drops players into a rogue-lite structure. You play as Mario (or Luigi, Toad, and even a secret Wario variant) who has fallen through a crack in the space-time continuum. Each "level" is a fragmented universe—one minute you are in a psychedelic version of World 1-1 rendered in negative colors; the next, you are platforming through a glitched-out Delfino Plaza where Sonic the Hedgehog’s ring physics briefly hijack your jump.
